Challenge

The client was running on WooCommerce and needed to move to Shopify without losing order history or experiencing downtime. The migration was complicated by Belgium's differing VAT rates (6% on tea, 21% on accessories) and a requirement for a bilingual store.

Outcome

The client transitioned to Shopify with no data loss and no downtime, with accurate tax compliance under Belgian regulations and a fully functional bilingual structure.

What I Did

Executed a full migration from WooCommerce to Shopify, including domain transfer from Hostinger

Imported historical order data via Matrixify, restructuring the source data to match the required column format

Configured VAT by product category using Shopify Bundles and manual collection-level overrides

Implemented a bilingual (NL/EN) store, resolving associated hreflang issues
